Some say cats have nine lives. I don't know what that really means and I think the reason that saying sticks around is because of the assonance rhyme. Nine lives rhymes inside.

Even so, let me tell you that I don't like cats. First of all, I am allergic to cats, and I don't like their attitude. However, I do think that cats make better pets than dogs. Let me give you just one example why.

I just came home late today. My dogs were glad to see me. But I wasn't glad to see their pee and poop on our rugs! Cats won't do that to you. Cats have the refuge of their litter boxes to fall into when the time comes. For this reason alone, cats get my thumbs up for being clean. Dogs? Not so much.

Another reason why cats make better pets is because cats don't bite people. They don't cause a ruckus when people come over. Too many times my dogs have bitten friends and strangers. We had the PoPo at our door because of it! We're one bite away from putting our dear dog down.

Another reason why cats beat dogs is that cats eat less than dogs so they're cheaper to keep. I'd rather spend $15 on cat food than $50 for dog food, that's for sure. Cha-ching, more money for me.

Now I know there are a lot of people who are dog lovers. I love dogs too, but dog lovers need to realize the trouble that dogs cause them. The mess on the rugs, the biting, the barking—they're a mess! Get a cat. Be happy with a cat. Get the love from a pet without the dog downside. Down with dogs!
